Why can’t I purchase directly from Fuller Fillies?
Fuller Fillies wholly supports the Trade by supplying through a network of Retailers, both store-based and web-based; to supply direct to the Consumer would undermine that relationship and would take business away from them. We are however always happy to help to direct you to a stockistand to guide you with any other purchase queries not answered on our website.

Why is Fuller Fillies’ sizing different from others in the market?
There are two reasons why Fuller Fillies’ sizing is different; firstly, there is no National, let alone International, benchmark for sizing of clothing, which is why we all have various clothing sizes in our wardrobes! Therefore; during the research phase of Fuller Fillies we gathered hundreds of statistics from plus-sized ladies to help us to fully understand how they were shaped - this has since been added to and now totals over 3000. We also asked what size these Ladies thought they were… This information was compared to the benchmark that used to exist in the 1980s (courtesy of Marks & Spencer,) and our own benchmark was formed. We believe that our sizing is correct as it does not rely on the understanding of overseas factories resulting in overly-small garments. We also ensure that all of our lines follow the same sizing by repeatedly sampling in a size 20 (in the middle of the range).
My last Jacket was a 42” chest – what size am I in your jackets?
This is almost impossible to answer as some Brands will say their jacket is a 42” because it measures 42” at the chest, whilst others will say it is a 42” because it will fit a chest of 42” (thereby meaning it actually measures about 46”…) Recognising that this is confusing even when you understand the difference, we have decided to size our Jackets and shirts according to dress size; by reading our information on sizing and selecting your correct Dress Size you can make your purchase in total confidence!

When are Fuller Fillies going to bring out clothing for taller girls?
We already offer long legs in Jodhpurs and our Breeches are designed in such a way that they can be worn by anyone between 5'4'' and 5'10"; our Show & Field Boots are also now available in 'Long' option; we always wanted to introduce longer versions of our show jackets, shirts and tops however to do this on tailored garments requires a totally different pattern - meaning that we would be facing seperate minimums for manufacture in the region of 1000 pieces per colour/ per garment. Our experience of selling long-legged Jodhpurs tells us that the stockists will rarely keep stocks choosing to take only regular lengths which they can sell to a wider customer base. As such we simply could not afford to commission longer/taller garments at this time.
In the UK, our mail order partner Tackanory, www.tackanory.co.uk keeps stocks of all of our Jodhpur styles in 'long' lengths whilst in the USA they can be obtained via www.thecurvycowgirl.com
Why is Fuller Fillies so expensive in the USA?
Pricing in the USA has to incorporate shipping costs plus duties and taxes either from the UK or direct from factory, which inflates the retail price significantly. As soon as our market in the US can support it we will begin manufacture within the USA, which will in turn eliminate these add-on costs.
Why do I have to wait so long for my Boots to be delivered?
There is a huge, worldwide demand for our boots; our orders keep the factory working at full capacity so to meet the retail demand it is essential that Stockists plan their orders and keep sufficient stocks to meet their own orders. The problem occurs when demand for the boots exceeds the supply the Retailer has ordered; when this happens the Retailer can place a top-up order however it is often the case that we cannot supply them until we get additional stocks ourselves. Whilst we appreciate this is highly frustrating there are few factories capable of following our precise sizing instructions – and the ones who can, cannot operate beyond maximum capacity…
I have some Fuller Fillies' Boots - how do I care for them?
We are delighted to be able to offer our boots with a sample pack of 'Renapur' leather dressing. All Show and Field Boots should be treated with this before you wear them as it will protect the leather from the ravages of Rain, Sun and Sweat. Renapur also offer an excellent leather cleaner. We also supply the sample pack with all Country Boots which should be treated on the foot for the same reason - you can treat the sock too however it will give it a slight sheen which is not to everyone's taste. Use Renapur cleaner and dressing regularly to keep your boots looking fabulous.

Why can’t I get Fuller Fillies’ clothing in a smaller size?
Fuller Fillies is a dedicated plus-size Equestrian Brand (the only one in the world!); we will only ever design clothing to fit and flatter fuller figures and the design process is very different from that of a ‘standard size’ Brand. When a standard Brand attempts to scale up their patterns to accommodate size 16 plus the resulting garment becomes distorted; similarly, if we scaled down our patterns the garments would become equally distorted! We do recognise there is a demand for our product in smaller sizes however we prefer to remain masters of our trade rather than become ‘jacks’ of them all. By specialising in this way we can be certain of producing well fitting, flattering garments for our very special XLovely Ladies.
Why don’t Fuller Fillies have a stand at HOYS/Hickstead/Blenheim etc?
Fuller Fillies offers a Trade-only supply. We are working hard to establish a Retail partnership to attend these shows and meet the needs of our fans and have been represented at major UK shows by ‘16 Plus Rider’ and in the USA by ‘The Curvy Cowgirl’. Please keep reading the ‘News’ page forfuture show dates.

Does Fuller Fillies have any other Brands?
Fuller Fillies is a Brand and Fuller Fillies Limited is the Wholesale Distributor of that Brand. We do not sell any other products and neither do we buy in products to sell under our own label. All Fuller Fillies garments are designed in-house from start to finish, by a plus-sized Lady Designer who rides! In fact, we don’t even purchase fabrics ‘off the peg’ but have them made specially to meet our strict criteria of being comfortable to wear whilst either camouflaging or reducing lumps and bumps, (of which our designer has plenty…)
My local Tack Store stocks Fuller Fillies but doesn’t have my size; what can I do?
Initially, ask your local store to get the product in your size however; if they are unable to do this in a reasonable time-frame (due to them wishing to consolidate your requirement with a larger order) then you can find a number of excellent online Retailers on our ‘Where to Buy’ page.

Your clothes have allowed me to start riding again and I want to buy a horse; what size & type of horse will I need?
We are delighted to hear this!
Your first consideration should be the size/weight of horse; pop on a set of scales with a standard saddle in hand – this will give you your combined weight. Multiply this by 5 to give you the minimum weight of horse you should be riding, (the BHS recommends the rider and saddle should weigh no more than 20% of the weight of their horse; we are not aware of any such guidelines elsewhere in the world but feel this is sound advice.) Now obviously, you should only be considering a fit horse as selecting a steed that is just fat in order to meet the correct weight ratio would be madness…
Your second consideration should be the conformation of the horse; as a general rule horses with a shorter back (within reason) will carry a heavier load more easily. To this end it isn’t always the case that a Draft or Draft Cross breed will be perfect for you although more often than not they do offer the most scope!
It is also essential that you have some lessons from a Qualified Instructor who will be able to help you establish a balanced seat –and this applies to all figure types and sexes!
I would like to let my local store know about Fuller Fillies – how can I do that?
You can email us with the store’s name and possibly a contact name within the store and we’ll do the rest! Many Retailers believe they are meeting the needs of their larger customers by stocking ‘Extra Large’ products however; these are rarely any bigger than a size 14/16 (12/14 in the USA) – it can be difficult to judge if the store-owner is a small size... or a Man! We are happy to help in the education process…Please email your recommendation to
